Came across a blog with a fantastic purpose today. It's called Virtual Paintout The idea is that of a monthly challenge using Google Street View as the topic for a painting. Each month a new city is chosen from somewhere in the world and artists are given the choice of any location / view from the named city - they then post their work to the Virtual Paintout blog. The blog has very clear instructions and displays the paintings submitted. Google fully supports the project and makes the images available copyright free.
Here are the locations visited so far [not yet to Australia] The range of paintings displayed is amazing as the possibilities through street view is huge.
